The Best 100 Albums You've Never Heard

This list originally appeared in the San online zine. The idea is to have reviews of all 100 albums, and hopefully a way to track them down. Most were originally released as records. Some made it to cassettes, a few to CDs.  There are far more than 100 great albums, these are just a few of the lesser known ones. I'm  sure anyone who likes music could make their own list. CCM did a magazine issue and then published a book with their top 100 albums list. Rolling Stone has also compiled critics' favorites lists. HM Magazine  annually publishes lists of critics and readers' favorites. Both Chris Estey and I had the idea to do a book of our own lists. For now, this is as far as I've gotten. It's just a jumping off point to writing about music. But you can read the Larry Norman reviews in "A Beginner's Guide to Larry Norman," originally written for San online zine. I put "The Trilogy" as one album in the list, when actually it was three, but otherwise Larry Norman would take up seven slots on this list. If I did have to name my top ten favorite albums, they would include a Larry Norman album that's not even on this list, but these 100 albums are not ranked in any sort of order, just as I thought them up. Many of the Larry Norman albums have recently made it to CD, and are available at larrynorman.com. An asterisk in the third column indicates an album available on CD through Amazon.com.
